Michael Anthony Collier, Jr., age 39, of Harrisburg, was indicted by a federal grand jury on mail theft charges on Wednesday, Apr. 13, according to a release by the US Department of Justice.
Collier took mail packages intended to be delivered through the U.S. Postal Service to victims located in Charlotte, North Carolina, and Maryland on Nov. 2,.2021, United States Attorney John C. Gurganus says in the indictment.
Collier was acting as a contractor responsible for transporting mail at the time of the alleged theft, according to the release.
The case was investigated by the United States Postal Inspection Service and the Penbrook police department.
If convicted, Collier could be imprisoned for a maximum of 5 years followed by a term of supervised release following imprisonment, and a fine.
